Anyone else having problems with these traitorous joints?
I have a sneaky feeling that my knees have a limited number of bends left...and there are times when they seem to be saving themselves for a better occasion... like when I ask them to lift me off a low-lying couch.
But my ankles! They stink. If I wear flats, especially my beloved flips flops, they threaten to snap like old rubber bands. So, I've bought a couple of shoes with "better support" and low heels...in which case the pain doesn't go away, it just drops an inch to the heel of my foot.
They won't win, you know... but they're fighting me all the time.

For me, ankles are no problem, I am careful about knees, but I do like to "bend an elbow."  It seems to me if I can withstand mind bending and can still do (moderate) elbow bending, I'm OK.

I have used a wobble board before and not only was it entertaining to my friends I have horrible balance but I noticed a difference in my legs. But here is the added bonus, my core back and abs were stronger too. By practicing balance not only does one strengthing the muscles surrounding your knees and ankles but your core can gain strength too. Kinda the same way it works when doing yoga. So yay for wobble boards

By the way does anyone else have other exercise for the boards or added bonuses?

Hey guys, first post of the CA site.  Ive been on the CF one but decided to come over here also.

So heres my problem...whenever I sit indian style I get pain in my knees and ankles.  Until recently I thought this was just because I wasnt meant to sit indian style or something, until I read a thread about this guy who cant sit in a figure four without his ankles and knees hurting due to inflexibility.

I was wondering which muscles are causing my knee and ankle problems when sitting indian style and which stretches could sort out my problem.

Anyone else have any experiences like this?

Thanks guys

I have mild joint pain in 2 of my fingers and my knees? I am 43 years old. Do you think it could be the beginnings of something serious? I have had this pain for a few months now.

Losing weight is just a matter of dieting and getting your rear in gear by exercising, right?

Wrong. People who start exercise routines can either get bored or injured when they choose routines that arent right for them. The most common injuries to beginners and people who are over 30 pounds overweight are to their knees and ankles. Here are a few suggestions that will help you spare your tootsies from pain when choosing a program at the gym.

- Any beginner course, from step aerobics to tae bo to kickboxing. Choose your instructor carefully, and let her or him know your concern for your ankles and knees.

- Yoga. Aside from the added benefit of helping you de-stress, a nice beginners class can help you literally find your balance, thus decreasing knee and ankle stress.

- You might also want to try water aerobics. Some gyms offer aerobics in the water, and the resistance works you very hard without hurting your joints.

- Walking-- but on grassy surfaces, or a foam-lined indoor gym. Running is not a good idea for anyone who has much weight to lose.

- Want to plug in your iPod and let go? How about a stepper, transport, or similar machine? These machines are designed to work you out without hurting your legs.

- Unleash your sensual side and try belly dancing--yes, even for men The hip-shaking and undulations give people an unexpected workout that doesnt force you to abuse your knees and ankles. Do avoid ballet, street dancing, and other vigorous dance exercise until you only have 10 pounds to go

As for frequency, for weight loss purposes you should go at least every other day for 30 minutes.

Have you found any other gentle exercise? Please do share it with us

I don't do any running, period.  I do walk fast. I use elliptical as preferable to treadmill also. So far no knee or ankle problems. I did get a lower back muscle out of alignment (or whatever) for several weeks for no reason that I can determine.

Walking will help your knees and knitting will help your fingers. The trick is to keep the joints warm and with blood flowing through them--regardless of the reason for the joint pain.
You should see your doctor to get a diagnosis. Try to avoid the pill regimens, because you start on ibuprophen and then that doesnt work anymore and you have to go to naproxen, then when that loses effectiveness they want to put you on Celebrex, etc. etc.

I usually play for three hours 3 to 4X a week in the evenings and when I wake up in the morning, my feet and ankles right ankle more severe hurts that I have a hard time making my way to the bathroom.  It usually takes a while to warm out of it and the pain is not that severe , but it is bothersome.  I am just concerned that it might  worsen.  Do any of you experience this?  Do you usually wear ankle supports when you play?  Will high cut shoes help?

This sounds like arthritis to me.  I would consult your doctor. In meantime, chances are you should lighten up a bit on the intensity or exposure to "impact" in your activities.  But maybe you're doing basketball -- what activity is it that's bringing this on?

I have had some problems in one foot, something that I suspect is "turf toe," but not from playing on turf!  My PT thinks it could be gout, but I'm not so sure this would be found in just one foot.  It seems to be healing gradually, though taking ibuprofen helps, and I try to avoid the type of impact that I think actually led to the pain in the first place -- have had this about 2 months, but am seeing some signs of improvement since I changed what I do.

So I have been stretching so that I can work some rubber guard moves when I start training again. One thing I noticed is that when I am in rubber guard I can feel a ligament on the inside of my knee stretching. Some people say that you shouldnt have flexible ligaments especially in your knees because it can cause alot of injuries. Other people I know that use rubber guard say that you have to have flexible knees. So is having flexible ligaments bad and who here has the same problems?

Not a lot of fat. But my knees not particularly slim either bits here and there. I was wondering if lipodissolve  can remove a little bit here and there . I am not after fat reduction but rather after reshaping

cheers

(which depends on what rank you have in skinning, can go up to 3 seconds) Cheap wow gold buy wow power leveling aion wedding dresses wedding dresses and will continue until finished. If you succeed then you'll enter loot mode (unless you have auto-loot on or shift-clicked the corpse) and be able to pick up whatever leathers/hides/scales the enemy has. If you fail then you simply try again. The reason skinning is attractive as a profession is because you don't have to hunt wow power leveling down any minerals or plants. All of the leather comes from enemies you have slain, providing you with some easy extra income. Well, you do have to hunt down the skinnable enemies, but at least when they defeated you can loot whatever they have, gain wow gold XP, and then get some extra bonus loot! Hides are gathered much in the same way as regular leather, although it appears less frequently. You can cure hides using Leatherworking by curing them with salt. They follow the same naming scheme (Light Hides) and levels as regular aion gold leathers.Scales are items coming off of Dragonkin, turtles, Silithid, and dragon whelps. They are used in Leatherworking recipes cnnnsvcjvl that are usually rarer then regular recipes or for mail created with Leatherworking. Regular scales can be found off of Turtles (Turtle Scale), rolex Replica Deviates (Wailing Caverns - Perfect Deviate Scale, Deviate Scale), Murlocs (Slimy/Thick Murloc Scale), Scorpids (Heavy Scorpid Scale, Scorpid Scale), and Silithids (Silithid Chitin). Dragons whelps drop whelp scales depending on their color (Red/Black/Green). Dragonkin drop dragon scale (Worn, Green, Blue, Black, Red) and many Dragonkin bosses drop special scales (that may require above 300 skinning) (Dreamscale
(Emerald Dream Dragons), wow power leveling Scale of Onyxia (Onyxia), and Brilliant Chromatic Scale (BWL).Etiquette is pretty simple when it comes to skinning. If it's an enemy you killed then skin away! If it's an enemy someone else has killed then ask them if you may skin it before you begin to skin. If it's a skinnable corpse and NO ONE is in the area, then look harder. If no one is still around then skin it (but save the skin should.zdm
